3M™ Edge Sealer 3950 is a fast-drying, clear, liquid acrylic/vinyl solution designed to seal the exposed edges of adhesive vinyl graphic films. It acts as a protective barrier that prevents film lifting, peeling, or degradation caused by environmental exposure, cleaning agents, moisture, and contaminants.
Usage and Applications
It is primarily used to seal film edges to ensure long-term adhesion, particularly in high-stress environments.

- Aerospace: Sealing graphic films on aircraft fuselages and wings to withstand high speeds and temperature differences.
- Transportation: Commercial truck, trailer, and vehicle wraps, specifically on edges prone to lifting, such as around wheel arches, sills, and fuel fillers.
- Signage: Marine graphics, fleet graphics, and outdoor signage.
- Compatibility: Designed for use with compatible 3M graphic films.
How to Apply 3M Edge Sealer 3950
- Preparation: Ensure the graphic film is fully adhered, and the edge area is dry, clean, and free from dirt, dust, or grease.
- Application Temperature: Apply only in temperatures between 50° to 100° F (10°C to 38°C).
- Application Method: Using the felt dauber provided or a small brush (approximately 0.6 cm or 1/4 inch), apply a thin, continuous bead of sealer along the edge of the graphic.
- Coverage: The sealant should overlap roughly half on the film and half on the substrate (the vehicle/surface).
- Drying: It is fast-drying (typically within 20-30 minutes), but it is recommended to allow it to dry completely.
